Request of the Member Companies of the Philippine Insurers & Reinsurers Association (PIRA) for the Extension of the Validity of Their Respective Clearances Which Expired on 31 July 2020

| SUBJECT | : | Request of the Member Companies of the Philippine Insurers & Reinsurers Association (PIRA) for the Extension of the Validity of Their Respective Clearances Which Expired on 31 July 2020 |
In response to the letter-request of the member companies of the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) for the extension of the effectivity of their clearances (Certificate of Accreditation and Authority) up to 31 January 2021, and consistent with the recommendation on the report of the member companies of the Philippine Association of Surety Underwriters, Incorporated (PHILASURERS), this Office, in its Memorandum dated 8 September 2020, noted the difficulties being encountered by the member companies in securing clearances from the lower courts nationwide and from the appellate courts due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recommended that their request be granted.
Acting on the aforementioned Memorandum dated 8 September 2020, the Honorable Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta APPROVED the recommendation that the existing clearances of the member companies of the PIRA be recognized as VALID UP TO 31 JANUARY 2021.
