Extension of the Validity of Certificates of Accreditation of Insurance Companies Pursuant to Memorandum Dated 28 January 2022
OCA Circular No. 26-2022, issued on February 2, 2022, extends the validity of Certificates of Accreditation for insurance companies due to ongoing health crises affecting court operations. In response to requests from the Philippine Association of Surety Underwriters (PHILASURERS) and the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA), the Supreme Court, under Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, approved this extension. The existing clearances and Certificates of Accreditation will remain valid until April 30, 2022. This decision aims to alleviate the operational challenges faced by insurance companies in obtaining necessary clearances from lower courts.

| SUBJECT | : | Extension of the Validity of Certificates of Accreditation of Insurance Companies Pursuant to Memorandum Dated 28 January 2022 |
In response to the letter-request of the member-companies of the Philippine Association of Surety Underwriters, Inc. (PHILASURERS) and Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) for the extension of the effectivity of their respective clearances (Certificate of Accreditation and Authority), this Office, in a Memorandum dated 28 January 2022, noted how the present health crisis continued to adversely impact on the normal operations of our courts nationwide and the difficulties being encountered by all insurance companies in securing clearances from the lower courts, and thereby recommended that the request be granted.
Acting on this Office's above-mentioned Memorandum dated 28 January 2022, the Honorable Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo APPROVED the recommendation that the existing clearances and Certificates of Accreditation issued by the Supreme Court in the last preceding accreditation period to the member companies of PHILASURER, PIRA and all insurance companies be RECOGNIZED AS VALID until 30 April 2022 only.
