PROCLAMATION NO. 2348

DECLARING MONDAY, APRIL 2, 1984, "SERGIO OSMEÑA, JR. DAY" IN THE PROVINCE OF CEBU AND ITS COMPONENT CITIES, INCLUDING CEBU CITY

WHEREAS, Sergio Osmeña, Jr. was one of the great sons of Cebu who distinguished himself as a statesman, a politician and a good public servant;

WHEREAS, the people of the Province of Cebu and its component cities including Cebu City should be given full opportunity to commemorate his dedicated service with fitting ceremonies upon his final arrival after a long sojourn in a foreign country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare Monday, April 2, 1984, as "Sergio Osmeña, Jr. Day" and a special non-working holiday in the province of Cebu and its component cities, including Cebu City.
