Republic Act No. 9694 establishes the Cebu Sixth District Engineering Office in Mandaue City, under the Department of Public Works and Highways. This office will serve the Sixth Congressional District, which includes the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, as well as the municipalities of Consolacion and Cordova. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways is tasked with operationalizing this office, with funding to be allocated in the annual General Appropriations Act. The act modifies relevant provisions of previous laws accordingly and takes effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9694
AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE SIXTH DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE IN THE SIXTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF CEBU AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. There shall be established, under the supervision of the Department of Public Works and Highways, a sixth district engineering office in the Sixth Congressional District of the Province of Cebu to be located in Mandaue City, to be known as the Cebu Sixth District Engineering Office.
SECTION 2. The said district engineering office shall comprise the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue and the municipalities of Consolacion and Cordova.
SECTION 3. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall include in the Department's program the operationalization of the Cebu Sixth District Engineering Office, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. ETDaIC
SECTION 4. The relevant provisions of Section 2 of Republic Act No. 9218 and all other laws, decrees, orders, rules and regulations are hereby modified or amended accordingly.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
