Requirement for Lawyers to Indicate in the Pleading Their Number in the Roll of Attorneys
On November 12, 2002, the Supreme Court of the Philippines resolved to require all lawyers to include their Roll of Attorneys Number in all pleadings submitted to judicial or quasi-judicial bodies. This decision was made upon the recommendation of the Office of the Bar Confidant and in response to requests from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Ilocos Norte. In addition to the Roll Number, lawyers must continue to provide their current Professional Tax Receipt (PTR) and the IBP Official Receipt or Life Member Number. Compliance with this requirement is mandatory and effective immediately.

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of the Court En Banc dated 12 November 2002
Bar Matter No. 1132. — Re: Request to Require Lawyers to Indicate in the Pleading their Number in the Roll of Attorneys. The Court Resolved upon recommendation of the Office of the Bar Confidant, to GRANT the request of the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Ilocos Norte to require all lawyers to indicate their Roll of Attorneys Number in all papers or pleadings submitted to the various judicial or quasi-judicial bodies in addition to the requirement of indicating the current Professional Tax Receipt (PTR) and the IBP Official Receipt or Life Member Number. SEIDAC
Strict compliance herewith is hereby enjoined effective immediately.
