Requirement to Indicate in All Pleadings Filed with the Courts the Counsel's MCLE Certificate of Compliance or Exemption
On September 2, 2008, the Supreme Court of the Philippines issued a resolution regarding Bar Matter No. 1922, which mandates that all lawyers must include their Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Certificate of Compliance or Certificate of Exemption in all pleadings filed with the courts. The Court noted requests from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) to defer the implementation of this requirement, originally set for August 25, 2008. As a result, the Court granted the IBP's request, amending the implementation date to January 1, 2009. This decision reflects the Court's commitment to ensuring compliance with legal education requirements while accommodating the concerns of legal practitioners.
