Memorandum Circular No. 24
Memorandum Circular No. 24, issued on September 12, 2017, suspends work in government offices and classes in public schools across the National Capital Region, Region III, and Region IV-A due to the adverse effects of Typhoon "Maring." Essential services related to health, disaster preparedness, and response are exempt from this suspension and are required to continue operations. The decision to suspend work in private sectors is left to the discretion of individual company heads. This circular took immediate effect and was published in the Official Gazette on September 25, 2017.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 24
Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and in view of the continuing inclement weather brought about by the Typhoon "Maring," work in government offices and classes in public schools at all levels in the National Capital Region, Region III and Region IV-A, are hereby suspended today, 12 September 2017.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services, shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The suspension of work for private companies, offices and schools is left to the discretion of their respective head.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
