PROCLAMATION NO. 1741

DECLARING THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 2009 AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PLARIDEL, BULACAN

WHEREAS, Thursday, April 23, 2009, marks the commemoration of the Battle of Quingua which took place in 1899;

WHEREAS, the Battle of Quingua, wherein the Filipino forces were under the command of General Gregorio del Pilar, was one of the most significant victories of the Filipinos in the war; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Plaridel, Bulacan be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Thursday, April 23, 2009, as special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Plaridel, Bulacan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
