PROCLAMATION NO. 2123

DECLARING MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1981, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN ZAMBOANGA CITY

WHEREAS, the celebration of the traditional feast of Our Lady of Pilar, the patron saint of Zamboanga City, falls on Monday, October 12, 1981;

WHEREAS, both Christians and Muslims alike in Zamboanga City celebrate this day with fitting religious ceremonies;

WHEREAS, in order to give opportunity to the people thereat to celebrate properly the feast of Our Lady of Pilar, it is but proper that the same be declared as a special public holiday in said city; cdt

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, October 12, 1981, as a special public holiday in Zamboanga City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines, to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 12th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-One.
