Proclamation No. 1643, issued on October 10, 2008, declares November 10, 2008, as a special non-working day in the Province of Eastern Samar to allow its residents to celebrate the 43rd Foundation Day anniversary. The Office of the Governor requested this declaration to enable appropriate ceremonies on the following day, as the actual anniversary falls on a Sunday. The proclamation is signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo R. Ermita, under the authority of then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. This measure is intended to ensure that the people of Eastern Samar can fully participate in the celebration.

PROCLAMATION NO. 1643

DECLARING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF EASTERN SAMAR

WHEREAS, Sunday, November 9, 2008, marks the 43rd Foundation Day anniversary of the Province of Eastern Samar;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the Province of Eastern Samar, celebrate the occasion, the Office of the Governor requested that Monday, November 10, 2008, be declared as special non-working holiday instead of November 9, 2008, which falls on a Sunday; TAECaD

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Eastern Samar be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, November 10, 2008, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Eastern Samar.
