Proclamation No. 2287, issued on May 11, 1983, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, excludes certain parcels of land in Barangay 22, San Cristobal, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte from the Southern Ilocos Norte Forest Reserves established by Proclamation No. 150 in 1937. This proclamation declares approximately 25 hectares of land as alienable and disposable under the Public Land Act, allowing for its potential development. The timber and forest products on the land will remain under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Forest Development, which will manage their utilization according to existing regulations. Existing leases or permits over the area are terminated, while specific protective strips along public trails and streams are maintained.

EXCLUDING FROM THE OPERATION OF PROCLAMATION NO. 150, DATED APRIL 17, 1937, ESTABLISHING AS SOUTHERN ILOCOS NORTE FOREST RESERVES FOR FOREST PROTECTION AND TIMBER PRODUCTION AND DECLARING AS ALIENABLE OR DISPOSABLE FOR DISPOSITION UNDER THE PUBLIC LAND ACT CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND SITUATED IN BARANGAY 22, SAN CRISTOBAL, MUNICIPALITY OF SARRAT, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE, ISLAND OF LUZON

Upon the recommendation of the Director of Forest Development, concurred in by the Minister of Natural Resources and pursuant to the provisions of Commonwealth Act No. 141, known as the Public Land Act, as amended, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby exclude from the operation of Proclamation No. 150 dated April 17, 1937, which established the Southern Ilocos Norte Forest Reserves for forest protection and timber production and do hereby declare as alienable or disposable, certain parcels of land containing an aggregate area of 25 hectares, subject to final survey, situated in Barangay 22, San Cristobal, municipality of Sarrat, Province of Ilocos Norte, Island of Luzon, which parcels are more particularly described as follows: cdt

Beginning from corner 1, a tamarind tree identical to FZ corner 27, Ilocos Norte Project No. 17, Sarrat, being N 26º E about 220 meter to corner 2; a molave tree, identical to FZ 26; thence N 06º E, 300 meters to corner 3, a narra tree identical to FZ 25; thence, N 10º E, 200 meters to corner 4, a mamalis tree, identical to FZ 24, thence N 14º E, 300 meters to corner 5, a point, thence, S 79º E, 350 meters to corner 6, a point, thence, S 25º W, 300 meters to corner 7, a point, thence, S 09º W, 240 meters to corner 8, a narra tree, identical to FZ 31; thence S 14º E, 200 meters to corner 9, a Primna Specie, identical to FZ 30; thence S 29º W, 120 meters to corner 10, a Bani tree, identical to FZ 29; thence S 73º W, 280 meters to corner 11, a tamarind tree, identical to FZ 28; thence, S 72º W, 160 meters to corner 1, the point of beginning, containing an area of approximately 25 hectares, covered by tax declarations Nos. 508620 and 515131 issued to Alejo Ganut, Sr. and 40 other petitioners.

The timber and other forest products found therein shall remain under the administrative control and jurisdiction of the Bureau of Forest Development to be disposed of/utilized in accordance with the Forest and Internal Revenue Rules and Regulations.

Any existing lease, licenses, permits or any other concession granted by the Bureau of Forest Development or by any other Office covering the area embraced by this proclamation or portions thereof is hereby terminated.

There are excluded from the operation of this proclamation, a strip of 15 meters in width on each side of any public trail therein used as outlet for timber and other forest products, and a strip of 20 meters in width from the highest bank of any stream for stream bank protection.
