Creation of Municipality of Bagamanoc, Catanduanes
Republic Act No. 491, approved on June 12, 1950, establishes the municipality of Bagamanoc in the province of Catanduanes. It separates several barrios from the municipality of Panganiban to form this new municipality, with its government seat located in Bagamanoc. The initial elective officials of Bagamanoc will be appointed by the President of the Philippines and will serve until their successors are elected and qualified. The Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette in August 1950.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 491
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAGAMANOC IN THE PROVINCE OF CATANDUANES
SECTION 1. The barrios of Quigaray, Hinipagan, Sukhan in the island of Panay; Lati, in the island of Lati; Bacac, Hinipaan, Bugao, Minaili and Bagamanoc of the municipality of Panganiban of the Province of Catanduanes, are separated from said municipality and constituted into a new municipality to be known as the municipality of Bagamanoc, with the seat of government at the present site of the barrio of Bagamanoc. cdt
SECTION 2. The elective officials of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and have qualified.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
