Remittance of Collection of Land Tax for 1905 in Certain Municipalities in Catanduanes, Albay
Act No. 1352, enacted on June 15, 1905, provides for the remission of land tax for the year 1905 in the municipalities of Bagamanoc, Caramoran, Pandan, Payo, and Biga, located in the sub-province of Catanduanes, Province of Albay. This decision follows the devastation caused by a violent storm on April 25, 1905, which destroyed public buildings, churches, and over two thousand homes, leading to a significant loss of crops and income for the residents. Consequently, the inhabitants of these municipalities are exempted from land tax obligations for that year. The Act emphasizes the urgency of the situation, facilitating its expedited passage for the public good. It takes effect immediately upon passage.
