GENERAL ORDER NO. 7
AWARDING TO CAPTAIN MARK K. LEWIS, JR., AIR CORPS, UNITED STATES ARMY, THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE STAR
1. For services of extraordinary value to the Commonwealth of the Philippines in a position of major responsibility and importance the Distinguished Service Star of the Philippines is hereby awarded to Captain Mark K. Lewis, Jr., Air Corps, United States Army. As Acting Chief of the Air Corps, during the past fifteen months, his good judgment, unusual soldierly qualifications and outstanding leadership have been responsible for marked technical and professional progress among the personnel and units of that organization and for notable improvements in Air Corps training and administrative methods. His constant readiness to assist and to coöperate with others and his tireless devotion to the best interests of the Philippines have provided an inspiring example to members of the Air Corps and of the whole Army.
