PROCLAMATION NO. 2243

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 2217 DATED JULY 3, 1982, ENTITLED "AUTHORIZING THE MGA LINGKOD BAYAN TO CONDUCT AN EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1, 1982 TO DECEMBER 31, 1982"

WHEREAS, the "Mga Lingkod Bayan" has been authorized under Proclamation No. 2217 dated July 3, 1982, to conduct an educational and fund campaign from June 1, 1982 to December 31, 1982, in connection with its forthcoming International Bazaar '82 which will be held on November 30, 1982, at the Folk Arts Theater;

WHEREAS, certain donations are being given by several countries participating in this project or activity;

WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the receipt of this donations, it is necessary that the same be made free from customs duties and other taxes, charges and fees;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 2217 dated July 3, 1982, by adding or incorporating the following provisions thereto, to wit:

"In connection with the participation of countries in the said International Bazaar '82, represented in the Philippines by their respective embassies, the donations that said countries shall give to the cause of "Mga Lingkod Bayan" shall be free from customs duties and other taxes, charges and fees."

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
