PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1763
TRANSFERRING, CEDING AND CONVEYING TO THE PHILIPPINE TOURISM AUTHORITY CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND OF THE PRIVATE DOMAIN OF THE GOVERNMENT LOCATED IN THE CITY OF MANILA FOR TOURISM DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES
WHEREAS, certain parcels of land of the private domain of the Government located in the City of Manila were set aside by Proclamation No. 25, s. 1926 for park, golf course and playground purposes; cd
WHEREAS, the said parcels of land, collectively known as the Sunken Gardens have been subsequently transformed into what is now known as the Municipal Golf Links;
WHEREAS, the touristic appeal of said golf links is enhanced by its proximity to the historic walls of Intramuros and to some of Manila's finest hotels as manifested by the increased patronage of its facilities and amenities by golf enthusiasts, both foreign and local; and
WHEREAS, the tourism potential of the area has yet to be exploited thru beautification and upgrading of its facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby transfer, cede and convey unto the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) for tourism development purposes those certain parcels of land of the private domain of the Government located in Intramuros, City of Manila, with all the improvements thereon, more particularly described as follows:

The PTA shall take immediate possession, administration, and control of the properties above-described, Provided, that the PTA may not alienate, mortgage or otherwise encumber the said parcels of land or any portion thereof without prior approval of the President of the Philippines; Provided, further, that the PTA shall review any and all contracts, agreements or covenants entered in respect thereto with the end in view of terminating those inconsistent with the purpose of this Decree.
All permits, licenses, franchises, privileges, benefits or concessions granted in favor of any person, natural or juridical, to operate, maintain or conduct business activities of any class or kind within the properties above-described are hereby terminated.
All laws, decrees, proclamations or executive orders inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked, repealed or modified accordingly.
This Decree shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 6th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-One.
