The First GAB Philippine Boxing Conventions

GAB RESOLUTION NO. 03-06

Resolution respectfully seeking the endorsement from the Office of the President through the Executive Secretary the Honorable Eduardo R. Ermita to the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, through their respective Chairman, for the purpose of financial assistance to be given to the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for the conduct of its priority project for this year 2006 entitled: "THE FIRST GAB PHILIPPINE BOXING CONVENTIONS" to be held in the City of Manila this coming April 16-21, 2006.

WHEREAS, during the last quarter of the year 2005, the Games and Amusements Board, under the Office of the President launched its first ever boxing conventions to be held this coming April 16-21, 2006 in the City of Manila, specifically at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila, Pedro Gil cor. M.H. del Pilar;

WHEREAS, as an agency tasked for the conduct of regulating and supervising all professional sports in the country, the GAB as mandated will realize this priority project for the purpose of showcasing the best among the Filipino great fighters of the ring not only here in the Philippines, but in the aspects of global community;

WHEREAS, this boxing convention which aims at further bringing into fold all the Filipino promoters, professional boxers and other officials actively involved in this endeavor including top officials coming from the different boxing sanctioning bodies in the world in order to show the seriousness of the national government to enhance and develop our great boxers into a more globally competitive;

WHEREAS, we also aim to develop more world champions that would continuously bring honors and glory to the Philippines through this very popular sport;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to have a green light and support from the Office of the President, since the GAB is under its supervision and in view of the context the GAB will be representing the name of the Philippines in this big particular event; aIcETS

NOW THEREFORE be it resolved as it is hereby resolved to seek endorsement from the Office of the President through the Honorable Executive Secretary Eduardo R. Ermita, to the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, through their respective Chairmen, for financial assistance to the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for the conduct of their priority project this year 2006 entitled "THE FIRST GAB ANNUAL BOXING. CONVENTIONS" to be held in the City of Manila this coming April 16-21, 2006.
