PROCLAMATION NO. 2297
SETTING THE DATE FOR HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE FOR THE RATIFICATION OF BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 236
WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Bilang 236, approved on September 12, 1982, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez in the Province of Agusan del Norte; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid law also provides that a plebiscite shall be held for the ratification of the creation of the said municipality by majority votes cast in the affected area of the present municipality of Cabadbaran. casia
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare that:
(1) On September 7, 1983, a plebiscite shall be held in the affected area of the present municipality of Cabadbaran for the ratification of the creation of the new Municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez.
(2) The Commission on Election shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to implement this proclamation.
