Holding of Plebiscite for the Creation of Municipality of Tinoc, Ifugao
Proclamation No. 2171, issued on March 16, 1982, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, sets the date for a plebiscite to determine the creation of the Municipality of Tinoc in Ifugao Province. This follows the approval of Batas Pambansa Blg. 184, which delineates the barangays to be included in the new municipality from the existing municipalities of Hungduan and Banaue. PROCLAMATION NO. 2171
SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE TO DECIDE THE CREATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TINOC IN THE PROVINCE OF IFUGAO
WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 184, approved on March 16, 1982, provides for the creation of the Municipality of Tinoc, Ifugao Province, out of the barangays of Ahin, Danggo, Tinoc Tucucan, Tulludan, Cumhang, Wangwang, and Binablayan, all in the Municipality of Hungduan, and the barangays of Bokiawan, Nunggulunan, Hapao and Loboong, all in the Municipality of Banaue, Province of Ifugao;
WHEREAS, the aforesaid legislative measure also provides that a plebiscite shall be conducted in the areas affected within one hundred and twenty days from the approval of the said Act, to determine whether the barangays specified therein shall become a new municipality to be known as the Municipality of Tinoc;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 184 do hereby direct the following:
(1) On April 15, 1982, a plebiscite shall be held in the barangays of Ahin, Danggo, Tinoc Tucucan, Tulludan, Gumhang, Wangwang, and Binablayan, all in the Municipality of Hungduan, and the barangays of Bokiawan, Nungguluhan, Hapao and Loboong, all in the Municipality of Banaue, Province of Ifugao;
(2) The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the aforesaid plebiscite and shall promulgate the rules and regulations to implement this proclamation.
