Letter of Instructions No. 413May 29, 1976Presidential Issuances

Letter of Instructions No. 413, issued on May 29, 1976, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, aims to enhance agricultural production in the Philippines, particularly in rice and corn sectors. It adjusts price ceilings in response to increased marketing costs, ensuring that farmers receive additional income to offset rising expenses such as wages and farm inputs. The new price support is set at P1.10 per kilo for palay and P0.90 for corn, while the price ceilings are established at P2.10 per kilo for rice and P1.60 for corn. The National Grains Authority is tasked with setting and implementing these prices, revoking previous ceilings. This order is effective immediately and modifies prior inconsistent directives.
