LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 165

In view of the accruing corn harvests and the need to support farm prices at a level that will enable farmers to make a profit and repay their obligations, as well as to effectively cope with the rising costs of fertilizer and other prime commodities, you are hereby directed to increase the support price for corngrains from P.50/kilo or P25.00/50 kilo cavan to P.62/kilo or P31.00/cavan ex-farm.
Corollary to the above, you are further directed to impose the following ceiling for prices of corngrits and corn by-products as follows: casia
Corngrits at P1.45 per kilo
Tiktik (Mesh No. 22) at P0.70 per kilo
Tahop (Corn Bran) at P.45 per kilo
White Corngrain at P0.80 per kilo
The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Administrator of the National Grains Authority are hereby further directed to ensure that the procurement mechanism implements these new support prices to the farmers. cd i
The military is likewise, enjoined to assist the above-mentioned offices, whenever called upon, to implement this directive.
