Repeal of Act no. 1639
Commonwealth Act No. 476, enacted on June 18, 1939, repeals Act No. 1639, which previously prohibited the sale and use of intoxicating liquor, except for native wines and liquors, to members of non-Christian tribes in the Philippines. The repeal effectively removes these restrictions, allowing for the sale and consumption of intoxicating beverages by these groups. The law took effect immediately upon its approval and was enacted without the need for Executive approval.
