Relinquishment by the Philippine Constabulary of Camp Bumpus Military Reservation in Tacloban City to the U.P.

LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 375

In order to hasten the development of the Government Center, Provincial Capital Complex and Regional Center for Region VII in the Province of Leyte as provided for under Presidential Proclamation No. 1272 dated June 4, 1974, and to accelerate the expansion of the University of the Philippines, Tacloban City, it is hereby directed that the Philippine Constabulary relinquish the Camp Bumpus military reservation at Tacloban City to the University of the Philippines and transfer its Provincial Headquarters to the Government Center, Provincial Capital Complex.
For this purpose, the amount of FOUR MILLION PESOS from the Special Activities Fund under Item I, Capital Outlays, page 398, Presidential Decree No. 733, will be released to the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the use of the Philippine Constabulary in the construction of its new facilities which shall be exempted from the construction ban. It is understood that the Leyte Constabulary Command shall not vacate its present station unless the Provincial Government of Leyte shall provide temporary offices and billeting facilities for the personnel and offices of the Leyte Constabulary Command. acd
