Re: Revised Upgrading Schedule of the Legal Fees in the Supreme Court and the Lower Courts Under Rule 141 of the Rules of Court
On September 21, 2004, the Philippine Supreme Court issued a resolution regarding the revised legal fees under Rule 141 of the Rules of Court. The Court noted a letter from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) urging the suspension of these new fees and referred the matter to the Committee on Revision of the Rules of Court for further study. The Court affirmed the informal decision made by the Associate Justices on September 20, 2004, to suspend the implementation of the new legal fee rates effective immediately. This suspension specifically applies to fees related to solemnization of marriage, motions, and compulsory counterclaims.
