On February 24, 2009, the Philippine Supreme Court issued a resolution allowing Judge Ramiro R. Geronimo of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 81 in Romblon, to conduct special court sessions in Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island, for the entire month of May 2009. The Court authorized Judge Geronimo to bring three staff members to assist in these sessions. Additionally, the judge and his staff will receive transportation expenses and per diems during their time in Magdiwang. This initiative aims to facilitate access to judicial services in remote areas.

Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of the Court En Banc dated February 24, 2009

"A.M. No. 91-1-171-RTC (Re: Request for the Regional Trial Court, Branch 81, Romblon, Romblon, to Hold Court Session at Cojidiocan, Romblon). — The Court Resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Court Administrator, to:

(a) NOTE the request of Judge Ramiro R. Geronimo, Regional Trial Court, Branch 81, Romblon, Romblon, that he be allowed to conduct a special month-long court sessions in Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island, Romblon, for the entire month of May 2009;

(b) AUTHORIZE Judge Geronimo to conduct special month-long court sessions in Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island, Romblon, for the whole month of May 2009; and

(c) AUTHORIZE Judge Geronimo to bring three (3) of his staff to assist him in the conduct of trials in Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island.

Judge Geronimo and his staff shall be entitled to receive transportation expenses and per diems during their stay at Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island."
