| SUBJECT | : | Prohibition on the Showing of Films and Programs with Excessive Violence and Sexual Content On-Board Passenger/Passenger Cargo Ships Operating in the Domestic Trade |
Pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) and the Movies and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) in May 2011, and in support of the government's continuing program relating to moral recovery and the mainstreaming of gender and development concerns in the maritime industry, all Ship Owners/Operators of Philippine Registered Ship engaged in domestic voyages/operations are hereby directed to ensure that only MTRCB licensed movies and programs that are rated "G" or General Patronage and "PG/PG-13" or Parental Guidance-13 by the MTRCB may be exhibited on-board ships plying the domestic trade.
Showing of films/programs with excessive violence and sexual content on-board passenger/passenger-cargo ships during voyages is strictly prohibited.
