Increase of Filing Fee for Notarial Commission
On May 18, 1988, the Supreme Court of the Philippines issued Circular No. 10-88, which announced an increase in the filing fee for notarial commissions from ?10.00 to ?100.00. Additionally, it specified that fees for court clearances and similar certifications would rise from ?4.00 to ?10.00. The collected fees are to be split equally between Court Fees and the Judiciary Development Fund. These amendments to Rule 141 of the Rules of Court will take effect on June 1, 1988.

SUPREME COURT CIRCULAR NO. 10-88

For the information and guidance of all concerned, quoted hereunder is the Resolution of the Court En Banc in Administrative Matter No. 88-3-5174-RTC dated April 28, 1988, further amending Rule 141 of the Rules of Court, to wit:
"A.M. No. 88-3-5174-RTC. — Re: Increase of filing fee for notarial commission and to specify fees for issuance of court clearances. — As recommended in the First Indorsement dated February 29, 1988, of Executive Judge Jose L Coscolluela, Jr., Regional Trial Court, Makati, Metro Manila, as well as the letter of Clerk of Court Maximo C. Contreras, the Court Resolved to (a) INCREASE the filing fees for notarial commissions from P10.00 to P100.00 and (b) AMEND Section 5, Rule 141, Rules of Court by specifying the fees for court clearances and other similar certifications and FIX the fees for certificates for clearances and similar clearances from P4.00 to P10.00 and the fees to be collected to be divided into two (2) equal accounts, namely: Court Fees and Judiciary Development Fund and (c) INCORPORATE the fee for notarial commission by way of amendment to Section 5, Rule 141 — Legal Fees, as sub-paragraph (j)."
The amendment to the rule will take effect on June 1, 1988.
