Authority to Practice Law and/or Apply for a Notarial Commission
OCA Circular No. 91-07 addresses the authority of retired judges to practice law and apply for a notarial commission after leaving public service. It clarifies that under Republic Act No. 6713, retired government employees can engage in private practice immediately upon retirement, except for matters related to their previous office, which is subject to a one-year prohibition. The circular specifies that this prohibition encompasses all branches and functions the retired judge held. The guidance aims to inform judges and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines regarding these regulations.
