REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6405
AN ACT INCREASING THE MINIMUM ANNUAL COMPENSATION OF PHARMACISTS, AMENDING FOR THAT PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FOUR THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN
SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Four thousand six hundred fifty-seven is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, all physicians, dentists, nurses, and pharmacists employed on full time basis by the government or by semi-government institutions or by government-owned or controlled corporations in positions requiring the knowledge of medicine, dentistry, nursing or pharmacy, as the case may be, shall receive a minimum annual compensation of six thousand pesos, five thousand four hundred pesos, four thousand two hundred pesos and four thousand eight hundred pesos, respectively."
SECTION 2. Section three-A is hereby inserted in the same Act to read as follows:
"Sec. 3-A. Salaries of higher levels of positions requiring the knowledge of pharmacy employed by the government or government-owned or controlled corporations shall be adjusted by the Wage and Position Classification Office with the minimum compensation for pharmacists as the basis."
SECTION 3. Section three of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 3. Such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act during the fiscal year nineteen hundred and sixty-seven is appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated and from any savings of the agency or office concerned. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the same purpose shall be included in the General Appropriations Act."
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
