Increase in Base Pay of AFP Commissioned Officers

Republic Act No. 3592, enacted on June 22, 1963, mandates an increase in the base pay for commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, establishing specific monthly salary rates for various ranks, ranging from P320.00 for Second Lieutenants to P1,500.00 for Lieutenant Generals. The act modifies previous pay rates set by Executive Order No. 23 from 1962 and stipulates that the salary increases will be funded from the National Treasury and included in future General Appropriations Acts. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3592

AN ACT INCREASING THE BASE PAY OF COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES

SECTION 1.The monthly base pay of Commissioned Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines shall not be less than the following:

Captain or Lieutenant Senior Grade

Major Lieutenant Commander
550.00
   
Lieutenant Colonel or Commander

Major General or Rear Admiral
1,300.00
   
Lieutenant General or Chief of Staff
1,500.00

SECTION 2.The rates of pay prescribed by Executive Order Numbered Twenty-three dated October first nineteen hundred and sixty-two is modified accordingly.

 

SECTION 3.The increase in salaries as provided for in this Act shall be paid from out of any funds in the National Treasury, not otherwise appropriated. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary to pay the increased salaries as provided for in this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Acts. aisa dc

SECTION 4.This Act shall take effect on July first nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
