REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2231

AN ACT GRANTING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP TO PAUL REEVES

WHEREAS, it is the practice of granting Philippines citizenship to foreigners who have rendered distinguished and exceptional service to the Philippines; cd i

WHEREAS, Paul Reeves was one of the few Americans who had championed the cause of Philippine Independence since the early years of our struggles for it;

WHEREAS, he has continued to prove his love for the Philippines by identifying himself with the Filipino people and promoting the friendliest relations between the Filipino and American peoples; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his valuable services to the Philippines, it is the sense of the Congress of the Republic of the Philippines to grant him Philippine citizenship;

SECTION 1. Paul Reeves is hereby granted Philippine citizenship with all the rights, privileges and prerogatives appurtenant thereto.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
