Extending the Effects of the Provisions of Act No. 4166 Re: Limitation, Regulation and Allocation of Sugar
Presidential Decree No. 546, issued on August 30, 1974, extends the provisions of Act No. 4166, also known as the Sugar Limitation Law, for an additional five crop years beyond its original expiration date. This extension is deemed necessary for national interest and is effective starting with the 1974-1975 crop year. The decree allows for the potential suspension or cessation of the Act's effects if the President declares that the state of national emergency has ended. This law emphasizes the regulation, allocation, and marketing of sugar produced in the Philippines.
