An Act to Extend The Effects of The Provisions of Act Numbered Forty-One Hundred and Sixty-Six, Entitled "An Act to Provide for The Limitation, Regulation, and Allocation of Sugar Produced In The Philippine Islands, and for The Processing and Marketing Thereof, and for Other Purposes," As Amended
Commonwealth Act No. 584, enacted on June 8, 1940, extends the provisions of Act No. 4166, which regulates the production, processing, and marketing of sugar in the Philippines. This extension is effective for six crop years starting from the 1940-1941 season unless the President declares the national emergency status, at which point the provisions may be temporarily suspended or permanently ceased. COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 584
AN ACT TO EXTEND THE EFFECTS OF THE PROVISIONS OF ACT NUMBERED FORTY-ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LIMITATION, REGULATION, AND ALLOCATION OF SUGAR PRODUCED IN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, AND FOR THE PROCESSING AND MARKETING THEREOF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES," AS AMENDED
SECTION 1. Act Numbered Forty-one hundred and sixty-six, entitled "An Act to provide for the limitation, regulation, and allocation of sugar produced in the Philippine Islands, and for the processing and marketing thereof, and for other purposes," as amended, shall continue in force for six crop years commencing with the nineteen hundred and forty-nineteen hundred and forty-one crop year, unless the President determines that the state of national emergency declared in said Act has temporarily or definitely ceased, in which case he shall so declare by proclamation, whereupon the effects of said Act, as amended, shall thereby either be suspended temporarily or cease definitely.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
Enacted, without Executive approval, June 8, 1940.
