Batas Pambansa Blg. 396, enacted on May 18, 1983, establishes a ten-bed capacity extension hospital in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, known as the Talavera Extension Hospital, associated with the Dr. P. J. Garcia Research and Medical Center. The Chief of Hospital will assign medical personnel to the new facility on a rotational basis, ensuring that the needs of both hospitals are considered. Funding for the hospital's construction and operation, not exceeding 750,000 pesos, will come from previously authorized appropriations for the Ministry of Health, with future operational costs included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The law took effect upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on March 12, 1984.

AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN EXTENSION HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TALAVERA, PROVINCE OF NUEVA ECIJA
SECTION 1. There shall be established a ten-bed capacity extension hospital in the Municipality of Talavera, Province of Nueva Ecija, which shall be the extension of the Dr. P. J. Garcia Research and Medical Center, to be known as the Talavera Extension Hospital. casia
SECTION 2. The Chief of Hospital of the Dr. P. J. Garcia Research and Medical Center shall assign or detail medical personnel of the center to the Talavera Extension Hospital on rotation basis: Provided, however, That the particular needs of both hospitals on certain occasions and situations shall be considered in making such assignments.
SECTION 3. The amount necessary for the construction and operation of the hospital not to exceed seven hundred fifty thousand pesos shall be funded out of the appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 131 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 230 for the Ministry of Health intended for new or expanded hospitals. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. cd i
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
