Proclamation No. 1729, issued on February 19, 2009, designates Thursday, February 26, 2009, as a special (non-working) day in Zamboanga City to commemorate its 72nd Charter Day Anniversary. This declaration allows the citizens of Zamboanga to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies. The proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo R. Ermita, under the authority of then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The official seal of the Republic of the Philippines was also affixed to the document.

DECLARING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF ZAMBOANGA

WHEREAS, Thursday, February 26, 2009, marks the 72nd Charter Day Anniversary of Zamboanga City;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of Zamboanga City be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies. DcSACE

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Thursday, February 26, 2009, as special (non-working) day in the City of Zamboanga.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
