PROCLAMATION NO. 1921

DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2009 AS "NATIONAL NEUROLOGY WEEK"

WHEREAS, the Philippine Neurological Association is the lead organization dealing with the diseases of the nervous system and is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the delivery of neurological care, education and research for the promotion of health and well-being; aEDCAH

WHEREAS, there is a need to have a heightened awareness and understanding of the neurological illness and its sequelae, through effective health education and optimal health promotion;

WHEREAS, in order to improve the information drive on neurological illnesses and the accessible care that can help those afflicted, it is proper to commemorate a "National Neurology Week" that will benefit the numerous patients nationwide from the simultaneous outreach activities to be done in identified communities in the country, such as provision of neurological services, conduct of scientific activities and other advocacy programs.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the second week of November 2009 as the "National Neurology Week".

Active multi-sector involvement, primarily from the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development and the different non-government sectors, together with the Philippine Neurological Association, is hereby urged to ensure success of this commemoration.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
