PROCLAMATION NO. 1874-B

DECLARING SEPTEMBER 7, 2009, THE DAY OF INTERMENT OF KA ERAÑO G. MANALO AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY

WHEREAS, on September 3, 2009, as a consequence of the death of Ka Eraño "Erdy" Manalo, the President signed Proclamation No. 1874 "Declaring a Period of National Prayer for and Remembrance of the Late Ka Eraño G. Manalo, Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo";

WHEREAS, the Iglesia ni Cristo has determined that September 7, 2009, Monday, is the date of interment of the late Ka Erdy Manalo;

WHEREAS, on September 4, 2009, the President signed Proclamation No. 1874-A declaring September 7, 2009 as a day of national mourning for the passing away of the late Ka Erdy Manalo, and accordingly, flags of all government buildings and installations shall be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on the said date. WHEREAS, an issuance declaring September 7, 2009 as a special (non-working) day would complete the honors being accorded to the late Ka Erdy Manalo.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim September 7, 2009, the day of national mourning for the passing away of Ka Erdy Manalo, as a special (non-working) day nationwide.

However, considering our national economic interests, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Electronics sectors are exempt from the purview of this Proclamation.
