PROCLAMATION NO. 1874

DECLARING A PERIOD OF NATIONAL PRAYER FOR AND REMEMBRANCE OF THE LATE KA ERAÑO G. MANALO, EXECUTIVE MINISTER OF IGLESIA NI CRISTO

WHEREAS, Ka Eraño G. Manalo, who served as executive minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo for nearly half a century, passed away on August 31, 2009;

WHEREAS, Ka Erdy is considered a great spiritual leader and father to the INC flock whom he has guided with the teachings of God towards spiritual growth and nation-building;

WHEREAS, the nation joins the Iglesia ni Cristo members in mourning the loss of their beloved leader, with prayers for his eternal peace and the ministry's continued guidance and strength to bear their sorrow and loss; DCASEc

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim a period of national prayer effective immediately until the day of interment of Ka Eraño G. Manalo. During this period, the entire nation is requested to offer prayers for his eternal repose and in thanksgiving for the gift of his life and contributions to nation building.
