Creation of Samal Subprovince, Davao

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5999

AN ACT CREATING THE SUBPROVINCE OF SAMAL IN THE PROVINCE OF DAVAO

SECTION 1. The Municipalities of Samal and Babak and all the territories comprised therein in the Province of Davao, are constituted into a subprovince to be known as the Subprovince of Samal, with the seat of government in the Municipality of Samal. casia

SECTION 2. The provisions of Sections twenty-one hundred and thirty-seven, twenty-one hundred and thirty-eight, twenty-one hundred and thirty-nine, twenty-one hundred forty, twenty-one hundred forty-one, twenty-one hundred forty-two, and twenty-one hundred forty-three of the Administrative Code, as amended, shall be applied to the Subprovince of Samal.

SECTION 3. The lieutenant-governor of the Subprovince of Samal shall receive a compensation of six thousand pesos per annum.

SECTION 4. The creation of the Subprovince of Samal in the Province of Davao, as provided in this Act, shall become effective if majority of the qualified voters of the proposed subprovince shall vote in favor of such creation in a plebiscite to be held simultaneously with the election in November, nineteen hundred sixty-nine under the supervision of the Commission on Elections. acd

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
