Creation of Municipal District of Jumalig, Quezon
Republic Act No. 3372, enacted on June 18, 1961, establishes the Municipal District of Jumalig in Quezon Province by separating the barrios of Talisoy, Gango, Casuguran, and Bucal from the Municipality of Polillo. Talisoy is designated as the seat of its municipal government. The Act provides for the appointment of the first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors by the President of the Philippines, subject to the consent of the Commission on Appointments, until their successors are elected. This law took effect immediately upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on June 11, 1962.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3372
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF JUMALIG IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEZON
SECTION 1. The barrios of Talisoy, Gango, Casuguran and Bucal comprising Jumalig Island are separated from the Municipality of Polillo, Province of Quezon, and are constituted into a district and independent municipal district, to be known as the Municipal District of Jumalig, with the barrio of Talisoy as the seat of its municipal government.
SECTION 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors of the Municipal District of Jumalig shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the consent of the Commission on Appointments and shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
