Creation of Municipal District of Carabao Island in Romblon
Republic Act No. 3423, enacted on June 18, 1961, establishes the Municipal District of Carabao Island in the Province of Romblon. This act separates the barrios of Agcogon, Busay, Lanas, and Pinamihagan from the Municipality of Santa Fe, creating a new independent municipal district with its government seat in Agcogon. The law is set to take effect following the election of new municipal officials in November 1963. It was enacted without executive approval and published in the Official Gazette on July 2, 1962.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3423
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF CARABAO ISLAND IN THE PROVINCE OF ROMBLON
SECTION 1. The barrios of Agcogon, Busay, Lanas and Pinamihagan are separated from the Municipality of Santa Fe, Province of Romblon, and are constituted into a distinct and independent municipal district of the same province, to be known as the Municipal District of Carabao Island. The seat of government of the municipal district shall be in the present site of the barrio of Agcogon.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon the election of the new municipal officials in the general elections for local officials in November of nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
