LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 955

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the importance of developing competitive amateur sports in the country and which is one of the primary tasks of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development; cd
WHEREAS, pursuant to the foregoing, a special task force directly under the President shall implement the "GINTONG ALAY" project which is the development of athletics, an event included in the list of priority sports;
WHEREAS, to ensure undivided support, there is need to regulate and centralize assistance for this program;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution do hereby issue the following orders and instructions:
1. All programs for the development of Athletics (Track and Field) shall be centralized under the "GINTONG ALAY" project. cd
2. Related projects/programs shall be subject to the approval of the Project Director of the "GINTONG ALAY PROJECT".
3. No athletic development program shall be given support by the MYSD or the POC provided however the same shall be given prior approval of the GINTONG ALAY Project Director.
4. This Letter of Instructions shall take effect immediately. cd i
