Conversion of Sitio Bagong Bayan in Mauban, Quezon into District of Bagong Bayan
Republic Act No. 2840, enacted on June 19, 1960, establishes the sitio of Bagong Bayan as an independent barrio, separate from the barrio of Lual in the Municipality of Mauban, Province of Quezon. The new district will henceforth be known as the District of Bagong Bayan. The act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on February 27, 1961. Notably, this legislation was enacted without the need for Executive approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2840
AN ACT CONVERTING THE SITIO OF BAGONG BAYAN, BARRIO OF LUAL, MUNICIPALITY OF MAUBAN, PROVINCE OF QUEZON, INTO A DISTINCT AND INDEPENDENT BARRIO TO BE KNOWN AS THE DISTRICT OF BAGONG BAYAN
SECTION 1. The sitio of Bagong Bayan is hereby separated from the barrio of Lual in the Municipality of Mauban, Province of Quezon, and is converted into a distinct and independent barrio to be known as the District of Bagong Bayan.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
