Conversion of Barcelonita Brgy. High School in Cabusao, Camarines Sur Into a Fisheries School

Batas Pambansa Blg. 156, enacted on February 8, 1982, converts the Barcelonita Barangay High School in Cabusao, Camarines Sur, into the Barcelonita Fisheries School. This legislation empowers the Minister of Education and Culture to reorganize the school and expand its curriculum to include aquaculture and other fisheries-related technical courses. All assets, records, and personnel from the former high school are transferred to the new fisheries school. An initial appropriation of 200,000 pesos for its operation is allocated, with provisions for ongoing funding in subsequent years through the General Appropriations Act. The act took effect upon its approval.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE BARCELONITA BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED AT THE MUNICIPALITY OF CABUSAO, PROVINCE CAMARINES SUR, INTO A FISHERIES SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS BARCELONITA FISHERIES SCHOOL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. The Barcelonita Barangay High School located at the Municipality of Cabusao, Province of Camarines Sur, is hereby converted into a fisheries school to be known as Barcelonita Fisheries School, and hereinafter referred to in this Act as the School.

SECTION 2. The Minister of Education and Culture is hereby empowered to reorganize the School and to authorize said school to offer, in addition to the general academic curriculum, aquaculture and other technical or technological courses related to fisheries and marine resources.

SECTION 3. All assets of the Barcelonita Barangay High School, whether immovable or movable, records and personnel, are hereby transferred to the Barcelonita Fisheries School.

SECTION 4. The amount of two hundred thousand pesos for the operation of the school shall be charged to the appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 80 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 131 for the Ministry of Education and Culture intended for new national schools: Provided, That the local government unit concerned shall continue to provide its share in the cost of operating and maintaining said school. Starting Calendar Year 1983 such sum as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the school shall be provided in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon approval.
