PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 561
PRESCRIBING A BASIC DAILY SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE OF NOT MORE THAN TEN (10) PESOS FOR EACH CADET OF THE PHILIPPINE MILITARY ACADEMY AND PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE FLYING SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 397, dated February 28, 1974, prescribed the amount of P6.00 as the basic daily subsistence allowance for each officer and enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, including cadets of the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine Air Force Flying School, trainees undergoing military training pursuant to Republic Act No. 4091, probationary second lieutenants/ensigns, ROTC Cadets on Summer Camp Training, reserve officers and enlisted reservists undergoing training or assembly/mobilization tests;
WHEREAS, prices of all commodities are steadily increasing due to world-wide inflation;
WHEREAS, the present rate of daily basic subsistence allowance is not enough to meet the quality and quantity of food deemed appropriate for cadets of the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine Air Force Flying School; cdt
WHEREAS, in the past, subsistence allowance authorized for cadets of the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine Air Force Flying School was greater than that of other military personnel in order to provide the cadets the proper nutrition in coping with the rigorous physical and mental demands of their curriculum training and other activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, in my capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, pursuant to Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972 and Proclamation No. 1104, dated January 17, 1973, do hereby authorize and prescribe a basic daily subsistence allowance of not more than ten (P10.00) pesos for each of the Philippine Military Academy and Philippine Air Force Flying School.
EFFECTIVITY: This Decree shall take effect upon approval.
All provisions of existing laws and decrees in conflict with this Decree are hereby repealed. acd
DONE in the City of Manila, this 23rd day of September, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Four.
