Republic Act No. 1231, enacted on June 7, 1955, authorizes the President of the Philippines to appoint up to thirty reserve officer pilots into the regular force of the Philippine Air Force. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1231

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES TO APPOINT IN THE REGULAR FORCE RESERVE OFFICER PILOTS WHO ARE GRADUATES OF THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE OR PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE FLYING SCHOOLS

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section four (b) and (c) of Republic Act Numbered Two hundred and ninety-one and under such rules and regulations as the President of the Philippines may prescribe, the President, within the period of two years from the effectivity of this Act and upon recommendation of the Secretary of National Defense, is hereby authorized to appoint not to exceed thirty reserve officer pilots into the regular force, Philippine Air Force, in grades higher than second lieutenant, who are graduates of the Philippine Air Force Flying School or United States Air Force Flying School and who, upon their graduation from said schools, were qualified for appointment as second lieutenants in the regular force, Philippine Air Force, under the provisions of Republic Act Numbered Two hundred ninety-one. cd i

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
