To intensify the fight against piracy and counterfeiting of patents, copyright and trademarks, with the end in view of minimizing if not totally eradicating these crimes against intellectual property, an alliance of businessmen and consumerists named COMPACT (Council to Combat Counterfeiting and Piracy of Patents, Copyright and Trademarks) is conducting a 2-day symposium on "PIRACY AND COUNTERFEITING, A NATIONAL CONCERN" to be held on August 31 to September 1, 1989 (Thursday and Friday) at the Rigodon Ballroom, Manila Peninsula.
