For the information and guidance of all first and second level courts, appended herein as Annex "A" is the approved Resolution dated 22 March 2018 of the Committee for Office Uniforms for the Supreme Court, The Presidential Electoral Tribunal and Lower Courts granting the request of the Supreme Court Employees Association (SCEA) and the Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE) for the suspension of the wearing of uniforms during summer effective 26 March 2018 until 31 May 2018, subject to the strict observance of the appropriate attire and proper grooming as set forth in the Guidelines on Wearing of Uniform.

ANNEX A
Committee for Office Uniforms for the Supreme Court, the Presidential Electoral Tribunal and Lower Courts
WHEREAS, on March 12, 2018, ATTY. MARIA FE O. MALOLOY-ON, National President of the Philippine Association of Court Employees (PACE) filed with the Office of the Court Administrator a letter requesting the suspension of wearing of uniforms from March 19, 2018 until May 31, 2018 "due to the heat of the season since the materials of the office uniforms are not conducive to be worn in hot/warm places";
WHEREAS, COURT ADMINISTRATOR JOSE MIDAS P. MARQUEZ favorably indorsed the said request for exemption from wearing of uniforms for summer to the Chairperson of this Committee;
WHEREAS, on March 12, 2018, MR. ERWIN D. OCSON, President of the Supreme Court Employees Association (SCEA) filed with this Committee a letter requesting permission that "the non-wearing of the office uniform be allowed until the prevailing weather conditions are conducive to the working environment of the employees for the summer period citing climatic conditions in Manila during the summer is uncomfortable and the heat is unbearable mainly due to scorching temperature (averaging 35 degree Celsius), based on Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)"; aDSIHc
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Guidelines on the Wearing of Office Uniforms, requests for exemption from wearing uniforms may be allowed by this Committee for meritorious reasons;
NOW THEREFORE, the Committee resolves to grant the request of the PACE and SCEA for the suspension of wearing of office uniforms from March 26 to May 31, 2018 subject to the strict observance of the guidelines on wearing of the appropriate attire and proper grooming.
