ACT NO. 2871
AN ACT TO REPEAL ACT NUMBERED SIXTEEN HUNDRED AND NINETY-SIX, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE DISPLAY OF FLAGS, BANNERS, EMBLEMS, OR DEVICES USED IN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REBELLION OR INSURRECTION AGAINST THE AUTHORITY OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE DISPLAY OF KATIPUNAN FLAGS, BANNERS, EMBLEMS, OR DEVICES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES"
SECTION 1. Act Numbered Sixteen hundred and ninety-six, entitled "An Act to prohibit the display of flags, banners, emblems, or devices used in the Philippine Islands for the purpose of rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States and the display of Katipunan flags, banners, emblems, or devices, and for other purposes," is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. The Governor-General shall, by proclamation, designate once only a day which shall be declared an official holiday, for the purpose of celebrating the restoration of the use of the Filipino flag.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
Approved, October 22, 1919.
