COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 36
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY-SEVEN, AS AMENDED BY ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FIVE, AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF NATIONAL GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS AND THE ALTERATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE OFFICIAL RESIDENCES OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE CITIES OF MANILA AND BAGUIO, AND PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Thirty-five hundred and ninety-seven, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-eight hundred and fifty-five, is hereby further amended to read as follows: CaDSHE
"SECTION 1. The construction of National Government buildings on the site set aside as government center in the Burnham Plan for the improvement of the City of Manila, including the acquisition of the privately owned land and building and the property and land owned by the United States Army known as the Nozaleda Reservation, within the site, and the alteration and improvement of the official residences of the President of the Philippines in the Cities of Manila and Baguio, and the alteration and improvement of National Government office buildings in the City of Manila, including the completion of the office building for the Bureau of Customs on the Port Area, Manila, are hereby authorized; Provided, That the total sums to be allotted under this Act for alteration and improvement of office buildings shall not exceed two hundred and fifty thousand pesos, and for the completion of the office building for the Bureau of Customs, one million two hundred thousand pesos, respectively."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
